A complete application for the Honors College includes:

- Submitting the online application or checking the Honors box on the ApplyTexas or Common application
- A full length (3-5 pages) literary analysis with a central thesis and strong supporting arguments*
- Extracurricular resume or list of interests and activities
- High school transcript and/or college transcript
- SAT/ACT scores**

Honors uses the transcripts and test scores submitted with your UH application.

*The Honors College requires applicants to submit original work. Use of AI is not permitted and will be detected.

**University of Houston admissions requirements for spring, summer, fall 2025 are "test optional." You will select if you want your UH application to be reviewed with or without a test score. Additional information may be found at uh.edu/admissions. The Honors College will continue to review applicants holistically based on test-optional selections.

The priority deadline for the Honors College and the University of Houston is November 1, 2024. The Fall 2025 application deadline is June 2, 2025.
