To compete for the Tier One Scholarship, incoming Fall 2026 freshman students should complete the following by November 3, 2025 at 5:00pm (CT):

Application Requirements:
-Completed application for admission to the University of Houston
-Completed Tier One Scholarship Application
-Letter of Recommendation*
*A letter of recommendation must be uploaded directly by the recommender. Your recommender will be contacted with instructions to submit the recommendation. Your recommender should know you well (high school teacher, school administrator, club advisor, etc.). The scholarship applicant is responsible for ensuring that the recommendation letter is submitted on time. Please obtain permission from your recommender before submitting their name on this application.

Top-scoring applicants will be invited to participate in a mandatory on-campus interview during the Tier One Invitational on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Applicants who have been selected to participate in the on-campus interviews will be notified by December 15, 2025.
