2024 Honors College Freshman Application

A complete application for the Honors College includes:

- Submitting the online application or checking the Honors box on the ApplyTexas or Common application
- A full length (3-5 pages) literary analysis with a central thesis and strong supporting arguments
- Extracurricular resume or list of interests and activities
- High school transcript and/or college transcript
- SAT/ACT scores*

Honors uses the transcripts and test scores submitted with your UH application.

*University of Houston admissions requirements for spring, summer, fall 2024 are "test optional." You will select if you want your UH application to be reviewed with or without a test score. Additional information may be found at uh.edu/admissions. The Honors College will continue to review applicants holistically based on test-optional selections.

The priority deadline for the Honors College and the University of Houston is November 1, 2023. The Fall 2024 application deadline is June 3, 2024 and the Spring 2024 application deadline is December 4, 2023.

If you have already sent transcripts and test scores to the Office of Admissions, it is not necessary to send a second copy to the Honors College; however, an unofficial transcript included with your supporting materials may expedite the processing of your application.
